  • GRANDPARENTS DAY

    September 16th 2025

    We are excited to celebrate Grandparents Day with our school family! There will be a brief program in the gym followed by a time for refreshments, classroom visits, and shopping at the Book Fair. The day will include fellowship, fun, and meaningful moments as students share their love and appreciation for their grandparents.

    To help us prepare, please be sure to complete the Grandparents Day Form by Friday, September 5th.

  • SCHOOL PICTURE DAY

    September 19th 2025

    Get those smiles ready, School Picture Day is just around the corner at Lamar Christian School!

    All students will have their photos taken for the yearbook and school records. Ordering information will be sent home soon, so keep an eye out in folders or your email inbox!

    Let’s make sure everyone looks their best and feels confident for their big moment. Students will wear their school uniform. We can’t wait to capture those bright LCS smiles!

  • FALL THEATRE PRESENTATION

    October 16th 2025

    You’re invited to join us for our Fall Theatre Presentation, a special evening showcasing the creativity and talent of our students in grades 6–12.

    Through our theatre program, students have been learning and preparing short skits that highlight their growth in performance, teamwork, and storytelling. This presentation is a wonderful opportunity for friends and family to come together and celebrate the hard work of our young performers.

  • FALL FESTIVAL

    October 25th 2025

    Join us for our Fall Festival on Friday, October 25th from 4:30–7:30 PM! Enjoy games, food, pony rides, and a chili cook-off. Vendor spaces are available! Call 601.794.0016 for details.

    Admission is $5 for ages 5–18 and $10 for ages 19+. Bring the whole family for an evening of fall fun!

Meet Gareth Bonner

HEad of school

Lamar Christian School is proud to welcome Mr. Gareth Bonner as our new Head of School. Since joining our campus, Mr. Bonner has brought strong leadership, a heart for students, and a clear vision for continuing LCS’s tradition of Christ-centered excellence.

In his short time with us, he has already implemented several meaningful updates to our student handbook—refining policies around discipline, exams and exemptions, uniforms, electronic devices, and school hours to better support a focused and God-honoring learning environment.

Looking ahead, Mr. Bonner is excited to introduce several new initiatives that will enrich the student experience, including:

  • Leaders of the Pack – Student Recognition Program

  • Community Service Involvement Opportunities

  • Seventh Grade Spiritual Retreat

  • Lions and Cubs Mentorship Program

  • Senior Retreat Experience

His heart for discipleship, leadership development, and academic integrity is evident, and we’re confident that under his guidance, this school year will be filled with growth, unity, and purpose.

  • Mr. Bonner earned his bachelor’s degree from William Carey University and his master’s degree from Delta State University. He has over eighteen years of experience in the Mid-South Association of Independent Schools, where he has served as a full-time classroom teacher and administrator.

  • Students gathered in a school gymnasium, during a special event or assembly, with some standing and others seated, facing a stage where a presentation is happening.

    Weekly Chapel Services

    Each Thursday, our students gather for chapel services designed to encourage spiritual growth and community. Chapel includes student-led worship, inspiring guest speakers, and age-appropriate messages that share the truth of Jesus’ teachings in a way each group can understand.

    This time of worship provides our students with a moment to pause from their week, reflect on God’s Word, and lift their voices in praise.

    We invite parents and families to join us each Thursday for a time of worship and spiritual nourishment:

    3rd–6th Grade: 8:30–9:00 AM

    K4–2nd Grade: 9:10–9:40 AM

    High School: 9:47–10:22 AM
